SAY Sí will offer studio intensives in June to high school students currently enrolled in SAY Sí studio programs and rising 9th graders who have confirmed their studio selection. 

Summer intensives are free and light snacks will be provided. Click HERE to register or to let us know if your student will not participate this summer.

See below for individual studio schedules. All studios will be closed on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. Students must be in good standing with their studio commitments and maintain consistent attendance to participate in the summer program.

VISUAL ARTS
June 17 – June 28
Monday – Friday, 1pm – 6pm
Working with Teaching Artist Michael Foerster and guest artist Leticia Rocha-Živadinović students will explore fiber arts and innovative ways to create work with a range of techniques.

MEDIA ARTS
June 17 – June 28
Monday – Friday, 1pm – 6pm
Students will participate in a review of film fundamentals and a one-week film race with Teaching Artists Alex Ramirez and Reese Lundquist. Using skills developed over the past semester and an understanding of horror films, students will write, direct, produce, and shoot their own short horror films.

HIVE NEW MEDIA
June 17 – June 28
Monday – Friday, 1pm – 6pm
Teaching Artists Stevan Živadinović and Ned Meneses will introduce students to interactive fiction and develop new skills in creative coding. Working in small groups, students will conceive and produce short illustrated adventure games.

ALAS THEATER
June 3 – June 28
Monday – Friday, 12pm – 5pm
A 4-week collaborative theatrical workshop with the Guadalupe’s Youth Theater Group, Grupo Animo. SAY Sí Teaching Artists Lilith Tijerina and Solstíz Ibarra-Campos will teach alongside Grupo Animo instructors Sarah Tijerina and Clint Taylor. The ALAS summer program will conclude with a play written and performed by the students on Saturday, June 29th.
