Administrative Assistant to Programs

Angelina Flores is a creative design thinker with a background in data, policy, and process analysis. She serves as our Programs Administrator and helps bridge our administrative and programmatic teams. Flores graduated from Texas State University with B.A. in Art History and attended the University of Houston to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy. She was a Teaching Artist for over five years in Austin, TX, working in diverse communities and serving pre-K through middle school students. Her experiences in multiple schools across East Austin and the social justice framework provided by Creative Action prompted her to concentrate on Educational Policy to address the inequities and failed policies of the U.S. public school system.

Like many people during the pandemic, Flores found her way back to her hometown to be with family and was delighted to have the opportunity to return to supporting youth development and arts programming. She believes every child is an artist and every person contains a creative spirit that only needs to be unlocked. And she wants more artists to run for office. She hopes her efforts in supporting staff and fighting for a healthier workplace will bring tremendous gains in serving our students, families, and community partners. To keep herself sane in the midst of our staff transitions, she frequently camps, bakes pie, meditates, and tracks an inordinate number of to-do lists.
